Arts and Sciences Information Technology Services
A&S ITS is a branch of ITS responsible for technology in the College of Arts & Sciences. We serve faculty, staff, and students in the college. We communicate with the administration of the college, central ITS, and most importantly the deans, chairs, faculty and staff that work within the realm of A&S. Our role is varied as we support the user of technology in the college in many ways.
Support
We provide support for University-owned technology. This includes, but is not limited to, computers, printers, lab equipment, and other accessories. All requests for support are handled by the ITS Helpdesk. Calls are answered in a timely manner and then routed to the approproate support staff. Contacting A&S ITS directly is not reccomeneded as the level of support that could be offered would be jeopardized.
Planning
Our knowledge of the multitude of technologies present in even the simplest of projects can help ensure succes for your department. By communicating with A&S ITS you have a better chance of ensuring your technology plans fit well with the existing technology here at SLU.
Purchasing
ITS does not control the purchasing of equipment in the college. Departments are free to make purchases as they see fit. It is strongly encouraged an extremely benificial to contact A&S ITS when purchasing decisions are needed. We are here for decision making assistance when purchasing technology. Our knowledge of university reccomended systems, integration into existing systems and our ability to successuflly plan for emerging technologies used in the realm of Academic help to provide top level support.
