OS X 10.4 Tiger
Overview
OS X Tiger is Apple Computer's latest OS release. A&S ITS is in the process of deploying Tiger for all Faculty and Staff Apple computers. Over the last few months testing and configuration has been an ongoing project for A&S ITS. We've been able to develop a solid system to install, configure and maintain Macintosh computers. Once the migration to Tiger is complete users will benefit from the following:
- Integration with the BIS network, users can access files from both Macs and PCs.
- The use of roaming profiles will benifit users of multiple computers. Users can login to one mac, access their data then log into another Mac and their data will be snyced.
- A great collection of open-source applications will be installed by default. A&S ITS recommends these applications and is well versed in their use.
